  • Do you know your Hebrew Birthday?

The anniversary of one’s birth is looked upon as a personal “Rosh Hashana” in Judaism. It is customary to fill one’s birthday with an abundance of good deeds, study, and positive resolutions. A birthday revolves around the Jewish calendar just like any other holiday would. Unfortunately, many people do not know their Hebrew birthday even when it is especially significant, such as the time of Bar Mitzvah at 13 years or Bat Mitzvah at 12 years. If you don’t know the Hebrew day, month & year, please fill out English day, month, year & approx. time of day for all your family members. The time of day is significant because the Jewish day starts at sunset (not midnight). We will then notify you when a family member’s birthday is approaching.
  • Yahrtzeit Notifications

Belief in the eternity of the soul is paramount in Judaism. We are therefore careful to say Kaddish and light a Yahrtzeit lamp on the anniversary of the day a family member passed away. The UCTC will notify you of a loved one’s Yahrtzeit. All you have to do is fill out the date of passing on the front of this page. If you don’t know the Hebrew day, month and year, please fill in the English day, month, year and approx. time of day. The time of day is significant because the Jewish day starts at sunset (not midnight). You will then be notified of the upcoming Yahrtzeit with details of its appropriate observance.
